Residential Aged Care Employee - Cook

McLean Care is seeking a Casual Cook to join the team at Killean, our 138-bed residential aged care home in picturesque Inverell, NSW. If you enjoy cooking, take pride in maintaining high standards, and want to contribute to the wellbeing of older people, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

This role is primarily to cover weekend shifts from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm. There may also be opportunities for additional shifts as needed, including to cover annual leave or unplanned absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals in line with dietary requirements

  • Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen, including correct food storage and handling

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high standard of service

About You

You will have at least one year of experience in a similar role and enjoy working as part of a supportive team environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in aged care, healthcare or a similar environment

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

  • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach

  • Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure

  • Two recent managerial referees

Highly Regarded

  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery

  • Safe Food Handling training

  • Chemical Handling Certificate
