About the Role Our Residential Aged Care home, Yallambee in Millmerran, provides a warm, supportive and resident-focused environment where exceptional care and genuine connection come together.
As a Cleaning Services Assistant / Food Services Assistant, you will play an important role in helping residents feel comfortable, safe and truly at home. No two days are the same, and depending on operational requirements, your duties may include a combination of cleaning and food services. Cleaning Services: - Clean and sanitise resident rooms, bathrooms and shared living areas in line with infection control standards
- Maintain the cleanliness of lounges, dining rooms, corridors, staff areas and other common spaces
- Safely use, handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with workplace procedures
- Dispose of waste and manage linen in accordance with hygiene and safety requirements
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain consistent, high-quality standards
- Help create a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents, families and visitors
Food Services - Support meal preparation and menu requirements in line with residents’ needs, preferences and dietary requirements
- Prepare, serve and present meals and refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Program
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and safe food handling
- Monitor and record food safety requirements, including food temperatures and goods received
- Deliver meals and refreshments with a friendly, respectful and resident-focused approach
- Report any food, beverage or dietary concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge or relevant team member
About You You’ll thrive with us if you are: - Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

- Flexible and willing to work weekends and varying shifts as required
- Able to follow cleaning, infection control and food safety procedures
- A good communicator who can understand and follow instructions
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team
- Physically capable of undertaking the duties associated with cleaning and food services
You will ideally have: - Previous experience in residential aged care, cleaning, hospitality or food services
- Completion of a Food Handling Course, or willingness to obtain one
- An understanding of infection control, hygiene and food safety requirements
- Strong customer service skills
- A current National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them
